About This Group

The Bangor Vet Center offers group counseling for veterans dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and other combat- or service-related mental health challenges. Led by licensed counselors who specialize in veteran care, these groups provide a safe space for veterans to process traumatic experiences alongside peers who understand military culture.

What to Expect

Group sessions are led by professional counselors and may include evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure techniques adapted for group settings. Participants share experiences, learn coping strategies, and build connections with fellow veterans. The environment is confidential, respectful, and veteran-centered. Both combat veterans and veterans who experienced other types of service-related trauma are welcome.
