For clinicians, peer leaders, and community organizations

Get found by the people who actually need your group.

List your therapy, support, or community group on The Group Guide. 100 founding seats, no more than 5 in any state, through December 31: one group listed free for as long as it stays up. Not a trial, not a teaser.

Why list here, and not just on the big general directories

If you run a group, you already know the problem. The big directories are built around individual therapists. Cohort start dates, modality filters, sliding-scale fees, and open-vs-closed enrollment are all afterthoughts on those sites, if they exist at all. People who need a group can’t find yours, and you spend half your free time explaining why your DBT skills group isn’t the same thing as a single 50-minute appointment.

The Group Guide is the directory that treats your group like a group. Cohort dates, modality, schedule, format, sliding scale, age range, online vs in-person. All first-class fields. People searching for “DBT skills group Denver” or “online grief support Tuesday evening” can actually find you.

What you get as a founding member

  • Free for as long as the listing stays up. Not a 30-day trial, not free until the price changes. A founding seat covers one group listing, and the seats are limited: 100 in all, no more than 5 in any state, through December 31.
  • One group listing with all the structured fields people actually search by: topic, modality, format, schedule, cost, sliding scale, age range, location.
  • A Founding Member badge on your profile, so seekers know you were one of the first to invest in this.
  • Direct contact. When someone clicks “Contact Group” on your listing, they reach you directly. We don’t sit in the middle.
  • No surprise charges. The founding listing stays free. Analytics, featured placement, and the monthly report are paid-plan features and are not included.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t sell leads. Facilitators pay for visibility, not for someone’s inquiry. When a seeker reaches out about your group, that conversation is yours. We don’t gate it, we don’t charge per inquiry, we don’t resell the contact.

We also don’t vet, supervise, or endorse the groups listed here. You write your own listing. You set your own scope. We make you findable. The directory is exactly what it says on the tin.

How it works

  1. Click the button below. Two minutes. No credit card.
  2. Create your account at checkout so you can manage your listing later.
  3. Add your group’s full details (schedule, cost, format, etc.): most facilitators are live within 24 hours.

100 seats, no more than 5 per state. The founding tier closes December 31 or when the seats are gone, whichever comes first.

Frequently asked questions

Is this really free? Yes. A founding listing stays free for as long as it is active. Paid plans (Solo, Organization, Premium) exist for practices that want more listings, featured placement, and the numbers. Nobody is moved onto one.

What if I have multiple groups? A founding seat covers one listing. The Solo plan ($29 a month) covers up to five and Organization up to twenty. Start with the founding listing and upgrade whenever you want.

Will my listing be reviewed? Every new listing is checked against your own website before it goes live, usually within a day. You write the listing; The Group Guide does not vet, supervise, or endorse groups, and the disclaimer on every page says so. Your credentials and licensure are yours to state, and the people coming to you trust that.

Can I pause or remove my listing? Yes, anytime. There’s a one-click “hide” toggle on your listing dashboard, and a “delete” option if you want it gone entirely.

What happens after the seats are gone, or after December 31? The founding tier closes. New leaders join on the Community plan (free, for no-cost peer and community groups) or a paid plan. Founding terms do not change for as long as the listing stays active.

What’s the catch? There isn’t one. We’re early. We need real clinicians and group leaders to make this directory useful for the people who search it. You get free visibility while we grow; we get a credible roster of groups for seekers to find. That’s the trade.

How is this different from other therapist directories? The major general directories are built around individual therapists, with a flat fee per profile. Their group listings are an afterthought. We’re built around groups specifically. We also don’t sell leads or charge per inquiry. Your client conversations are yours.

Why this exists

The Group Guide was built by Stephanie Smith, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Denver, after years of watching colleagues fill their 1:1 caseloads in two weeks and run their DBT and grief groups at half capacity for months. People who needed a group could not find one, and clinicians who ran good groups could not get them found.

It is the directory she wished had existed when she started running groups. Built around how groups actually work. Free for the people who got here first. No leads sold, no surprise upsell. Just a way for people to find your group.

If you have a group worth filling, scroll up and claim your seat.

Stephanie Smith, LCSW

A note on what we do (and don’t). The Group Guide is a directory. Group leaders write their own listings, and we don’t vet, supervise, or endorse them. We’re not a clinic, and we don’t guarantee outcomes. That’s the group’s work, not ours.
