About This Group
Samaritans, Inc. offers SafePlace support groups for people who have lost a loved one to suicide. Facilitated by trained volunteers who are themselves suicide loss survivors, these groups provide a compassionate, understanding space where participants can share their grief, process complex emotions, and find hope alongside others who have experienced similar losses.
What to Expect
SafePlace groups are peer-facilitated by trained volunteers with personal experience of suicide loss. Sessions provide a safe, confidential environment for sharing the unique grief that accompanies suicide bereavement — including feelings of guilt, anger, confusion, and stigma that often accompany this type of loss. Participants are encouraged to share at their own pace. The groups help normalize the grieving process and reduce the isolation that many suicide loss survivors experience.

In addition to their 24-hour crisis helpline, Samaritans provides grief support, community education, and advocacy. They have served the Boston and Metrowest communities for decades.
