Free Suicide Loss Survivor Group - Lakewood | Heartbeat Denver
About This Group
Heartbeat Survivors After Suicide is a Colorado-founded nonprofit created by LaRita Archibald in 1980 after the loss of her son. Its Denver/Lakewood/Littleton chapter offers a peer support group where every participant is a survivor of suicide loss.
What to Expect
The group’s mission is empathy, comfort, and relief from isolation in a safe, judgment-free environment. Meetings normalize suicide grief, validate the loss, and role model healthy adjustment. All are welcome and, in the organization’s own words, there is never a fee.
Who This Is For
Anyone touched by the suicide of a loved one. Heartbeat notes it is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you or someone you care about is in crisis, call or text 988.
How to Join
Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month, 7:00 to 9:00 PM, at 2750 S. Wadsworth Avenue, Suite D102, Denver, CO 80227. Contact facilitator Lisa Sjoden at 720-272-3753 (text only) or Greg Hilbert at greghilbert1@gmail.com. For more free options, see the Colorado support groups directory on The Group Guide.
