Free Recovering Couples Anonymous Peer Support — Couples, Nationwide
Recovering Couples Anonymous (RCA) is a 12-step peer fellowship for committed couples working together on the recovery of their relationship. RCA welcomes any two people in a committed relationship — regardless of legal status, sexual orientation, or gender identity — who share the desire to restore healthy communication, caring, and intimacy with each other.
What to Expect
Couples-as-couples attend meetings together. RCA’s program is built around the 12 Steps adapted for couples in recovery, with a particular focus on partnership-level recovery rather than each individual’s separate program. Meetings include readings, structured shares from couples, and group discussion. Many couples in RCA are also members of other 12-step programs (AA, NA, Al-Anon, Nar-Anon, SAA, S-Anon, etc.) and use RCA specifically to work on the couplehood.
Meeting Formats
In-person meetings throughout the US. Online RCA meetings via Zoom — the meeting search at recovering-couples.org/meetings lets you filter by attendance option (online vs in-person). Growing the Fellowship meetings the first Sunday of each month. Annual Business Meeting/Convention each summer (2026: July 24-26, Denver).
Who This Group Is For
Any two people in a committed relationship who want to restore or strengthen the health of that relationship. The relationship may have been affected by addiction, infidelity, communication breakdown, intimacy struggles, trauma, or other challenges. RCA does not require that either partner have a specific diagnosis — the only requirement is the couple’s shared desire to recover the relationship.
Why Peer Support Works
Couples therapy is valuable but expensive and time-limited. RCA offers ongoing community with other couples doing the same work — partners who have lived through what your relationship is living through, and couples a few years ahead who model what restored communication and intimacy can look like. The peer modeling is something individual therapy cannot replicate.
How to Join
Attend any open meeting together as a couple — no registration, dues, or fees. The RCA Meeting Diversity Statement affirms welcome regardless of relationship structure, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Find meetings at recovering-couples.org/meetings.
