Free Children's Grief Peer Support — Worcester, MA | Carriage House
The Carriage House Grief Support Center, a program of YOU, Inc. and an affiliate of the Seven Hills Foundation, provides free grief support for children and adolescents ages three to eighteen in the Worcester, Massachusetts area. Serving young people who have lost a parent, primary caregiver, or sibling, along with their families, the Carriage House offers a steady community where grief is met with understanding rather than silence.
What to Expect
Peer support groups meet every other week from October through June and run about an hour and a half. Children and teens gather with peers who have experienced similar losses, while caregivers are supported alongside them. The program also hosts quarterly community grief support workshops for participants, families, and the wider community, extending connection beyond the regular group meetings.
Who This Group Is For
The Carriage House welcomes grieving children and teens ages 3-18 who have lost a parent, caregiver, or sibling, together with their family members and caretakers. All services are free of charge.
Why Peer Support Works
For a grieving child, discovering a room full of peers who also know what loss feels like can be transformative. Peer support reduces the isolation of grief and reassures young people that their emotions are normal and survivable. With a licensed clinician guiding the program, families receive both the warmth of shared experience and the reassurance of professional oversight.
