Elemental Health, LLC: Reclaiming Identity After Trauma Therapy Group
This group is for adult women (18+) who want to explore how trauma has shaped their sense of self, relationships, and ways of coping. It may be especially helpful if you recognize patterns such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-criticism, or feeling disconnected from your own needs and identity.
Participants should be open to creative self-reflection, learning practical skills, and engaging respectfully in a shared therapeutic space. Tarot cards are used as symbolic prompts for reflection; no tarot experience or spiritual beliefs are required. Sharing is always optional, and you will not be asked to recount traumatic experiences in detail.
People experiencing an immediate crisis or needing more intensive, individualized support may be better served by other services before joining. Those seeking individual trauma processing, EMDR treatment, or tarot readings would be better served by a different offering. A pre-group assessment helps us determine together whether this group fits your needs.
This group is facilitated by Kristina “Krissy” Barry, MA, LPC, LPCS, AADC, founder of Elemental Health in North Charleston. Krissy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor with training in EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. Her work focuses on trauma, identity, and helping people reconnect with themselves beyond the roles and patterns they developed to survive.
Krissy brings warmth, curiosity, humor, and a commitment to social justice to her work. Her approach blends psychology, nervous-system awareness, and creative self-reflection, with room for client-led exploration of spirituality when desired. She welcomes diverse identities and beliefs and strives to create an affirming space where women can feel respected, make their own choices, and explore who they are becoming at their own pace.
Your first time: The first session is about settling in, getting to know one another, and learning what to expect. We’ll review group agreements, including confidentiality and its limits, and make space for introductions at your own comfort level.
Each session blends psychoeducation, group processing, and experiential self-reflection, with mindfulness woven throughout. In our first meeting, we’ll begin exploring how trauma and survival roles can shape our sense of identity. Activities may include journaling and using tarot imagery as symbolic prompts for reflection—no tarot experience or spiritual beliefs are needed.
You’ll receive a journal and group materials. You won’t be asked to recount your trauma, and sharing is always optional. There’s room to participate at your own pace and arrive just as you are.
Start by completing the [group interest form](https://krissybarry.myflodesk.com/traumatherapygroupspring27). Krissy will follow up to discuss your interest and answer questions.
New clients complete an assessment that serves as a more in-depth screening process to explore your needs, relevant history, and whether the group is a good fit. This assessment is required only for new clients and has a separate $185 fee. The six-week group costs $300.
This is a closed group, meaning participants join before the first session and the same members meet throughout all six weeks.
