Walk to End Alzheimer's Richmond, VA 2026: Free Dementia Awareness Walk
About this event
The Richmond Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings the Central Virginia community together to support families affected by Alzheimer’s and all other dementias. The event is one of more than 600 Walk to End Alzheimer’s events held nationwide each fall, all benefiting Alzheimer’s Association programs including the 24-hour Helpline, free local support groups, education programs, and research funding.
What to expect
The morning includes the Promise Garden Ceremony where participants carry color-coded flowers symbolizing their connection to the disease (blue for someone living with Alzheimer’s, purple for someone who has lost a loved one, yellow for caregivers, orange for supporters). The walk follows accessible routes around the City Stadium grounds, and on-site resources connect families with caregiver support and memory-care services in the Richmond area.
Who this is for
People living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, family caregivers, friends, healthcare professionals, and anyone in the Central Virginia community touched by memory loss.
