New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL) - 24/7 Support
About This Group
The New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL) is the state’s primary 24/7 crisis support service, providing free, confidential counseling for individuals experiencing mental health crises, suicidal thoughts, or substance use emergencies. Available by phone, text, and warmline, NMCAL connects New Mexico residents with trained crisis counselors who offer immediate support, safety planning, and referrals to local behavioral health services throughout the state.
What to Expect
When you contact NMCAL, you will be connected with a trained crisis counselor who provides immediate support and de-escalation for mental health and substance use crises. The warmline service is also available for individuals who need someone to talk to but are not in immediate crisis — offering peer support, active listening, and connection. Counselors can also help connect callers with ongoing behavioral health services in their area.
About NMCAL
NMCAL is funded by the state of New Mexico to ensure that every resident has access to immediate behavioral health crisis support, regardless of location, insurance status, or time of day. The service complements the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline with New Mexico-specific resources and referrals.
