About This Group
NAMI Rhode Island (National Alliance on Mental Illness) offers free peer-led support groups throughout the state for individuals living with mental health conditions and their family members. These groups provide a safe, confidential environment where participants can share experiences, learn coping strategies, and find understanding from others who truly know what they’re going through.
What to Expect
NAMI support groups follow structured formats developed by NAMI National. The NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is for adults living with mental health conditions, while NAMI Family Support Group is designed for family members and caregivers. Sessions typically last 90 minutes and are facilitated by trained peers who have lived experience with mental illness. No registration is required for most groups — simply show up.
