About This Group
NAMI Broward County provides free peer-led support groups for individuals living with mental health conditions and their family members throughout the Broward County and Fort Lauderdale area. Groups follow the structured NAMI model, offering a safe and confidential space for sharing experiences, learning coping strategies, and building connections with others who understand the challenges of mental illness.
What to Expect
Support groups are facilitated by trained NAMI peers who have personal experience with mental health conditions. The NAMI Connection groups serve individuals living with mental illness, while NAMI Family Support Groups are designed for family members and caregivers. Sessions follow a structured format that encourages open sharing while maintaining a warm and respectful atmosphere. Groups last approximately 90 minutes. No registration is required.
