Free Low Vision & Blindness Peer Support - Colorado Springs | The IC
About This Group
The Independence Center (IC), founded in 1987, is a Center for Independent Living serving people with disabilities across El Paso County and surrounding communities, with extension offices in Cripple Creek and Calhan. The IC believes that being able to help and advocate for yourself, with support from peers, is the path to a fulfilling, independent life.
Ways to Find Support
The IC’s Peer Support Groups for low vision and blindness bring together people of all ages navigating similar experiences, alongside classes and group outings that build community while increasing independence. The IC’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing program runs its own peer support groups too, along with one-on-one appointments with specialists for individual goal-setting and advocacy.
