4th Trimester AZ — Free Postpartum Parent Support Villages — Arizona
4th Trimester Arizona is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting the mental, physical, and emotional health of parents in pregnancy and the first years after a baby is born. Its signature offering is the Village program — free, recurring parent support meetups held across Arizona, because no one should have to do parenting alone.
What to Expect
Each Village is a parent-focused social support group offering postpartum education and a community of parents and providers. Regional Villages meet monthly in person: West Valley in Glendale (1st Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.), East Valley in Mesa (2nd Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.), Tucson (4th Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.), and Queen Creek (1st Saturday, 10:00 a.m.). A Virtual Village meets by Zoom on the 3rd Tuesday at noon. Identity-based Villages include the Black Mamas Support Village (3rd Sunday), Pueblo de Mamas Latinas in Spanish (1st Tuesday and 3rd Thursday), an Indigenous Parents Support Village (3rd Friday), and a Dad Village on Zoom (2nd Monday, 6:00 p.m.). AfterGlow, a six-week virtual series, is available by application.
Who This Group Is For
Villages serve all Arizona families and are inclusive of all family structures, gender identities, sexual orientations, cultures, ethnicities, religions, and socioeconomic statuses. Whether you’re pregnant, newly postpartum, or parenting a young child, you’re welcome — babies included.
Why Peer Support Works
One in three new mothers experiences a postpartum mood or anxiety disorder, and most pregnancy-associated maternal deaths occur after birth. Social support is protective: regular contact with other parents who understand the sleepless, identity-shifting early years reduces isolation and helps parents move from just surviving to thriving. Villages pair that peer connection with practical postpartum education and links to local providers.
How to Join
Villages are free. Find your Village and current meeting details at 4thtrimesteraz.org, or call (480) 269-1639. Some Villages use online registration links; others welcome drop-ins — check each Village page for specifics.
