Warrior PATHH — Free Combat Veteran PTSD Healing Program

Nationwide
Enrolling now

The Boulder Crest Foundation runs Warrior PATHH (Progressive and Alternative Training for Helping Heroes) — a free, peer-delivered training program that helps combat veterans and first responders transform deep struggle into lifelong Posttraumatic Growth. PATHH is the first training of its kind to focus specifically on Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) rather than symptom management alone, and is delivered entirely by trained combat veterans and first responders who have completed the program themselves.

What to Expect

Warrior PATHH is a 90-day program that begins with a five-day intensive, residential initiation at one of Boulder Crest’s training locations across the country, followed by three months of dedicated support, training, accountability, and peer connection. Participants live and learn together with a small cohort of fellow combat veterans or first responders during the initiation, then continue the work in their daily lives with ongoing support from PATHH guides — themselves graduates of the program. Costs (program, lodging, food, materials) are covered entirely by Boulder Crest and partner organizations. The program is rooted in evidence on Posttraumatic Growth and emphasizes peer connection, struggle-to-strength reframing, and lifelong practice.

Who This Group Is For

Warrior PATHH is for combat veterans (all branches and eras, including pre-9/11 vets) and first responders (police, fire, EMS, dispatch, and federal protective services) who are struggling with the impact of their service — including PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use, and the broader weight of trauma. Participants typically have a service-connected struggle they’re ready to address. Boulder Crest’s eligibility criteria are designed to ensure the cohort can do the work together effectively.

Why Peer Support Works

The peer-delivered structure of Warrior PATHH is foundational to the program’s impact. Combat veterans and first responders often describe how powerful it is to learn from guides who have walked the exact same road — who have been through Warrior PATHH themselves, struggled with similar combat or service trauma, and come out the other side. The cohort model deepens the effect: spending five days with a small group of peers who understand without explanation, then staying connected for three months of follow-up.

How to Join

Warrior PATHH is free. Visit bouldercrest.org/program/warrior-pathh to check eligibility and apply. The program is offered at multiple training locations across the country through Boulder Crest’s Partner network — including Camp Southern Ground, The Big Red Barn Retreat, and others — making it accessible to participants from across the U.S.
