Make the most of your listing

People decide in seconds whether to reach out. A complete, specific listing gets opened more, brings in people who fit, and gives you accurate numbers in your dashboard.

Eight things that make a difference

Name it clearly
Use your group, practice, or own name, or say who it's for. Generic titles like "Grief Support Group" match dozens of listings and aren't accepted.
Fill the fields, not just the paragraph
Search filters read the fields. Format, state, cost, audience, age, and insurance only help people find you if they're filled in.
Contact details in the contact fields
Phone, email, and website fields run the Contact button and your flyer, and every click is counted by type in your dashboard.
Say what the first time is like
Can people just listen? Should they arrive early? It answers the biggest worry before anyone has to ask.
Spell out the cost
The fee, sliding scale, which insurance, or that it's free. People shouldn't have to call to find out.
Keep enrollment current
Accepting, Full, or Waitlist, plus a start date. When you switch back to Accepting, the waitlist gets an email.
Pick every topic that fits
Topics place your group on topic and state pages and in filtered searches.
Use your checklist
Your dashboard shows what's missing from your listing, with links straight to each field.

Why it matters

Not knowing enough about a group is one of the main reasons people don't go. A listing that answers their questions does part of your screening for you.1

Keep in mind

The site tries to link numbers and emails typed into your description, but it can't read every format. The contact fields give you the clearest count of who reached out.

A practice tool for group leaders. The Group Guide is a directory, not a clinic.
